I have the american CD version of SWBF2 and it came as version 1.1. Is there anyway to manually remove 1.1 so I can play 1.0 online.

There is a way but it involves using a No-CD crack unfortunately (version 1.0 of course). That is all.

Why do you want to play 1.0?

Which should mean you can't play online anyway, doesn't it? :S

There really isn't too much of a difference, other than community members. The 1.1 I know and have played with have a dislike of 1.0 players (somewhat elitist in my opinion). Apparently 1.0 is too moobish for them? 1.0 players either don't know there is a 1.1 or play both.

I've never understood why people want to play the outdated version.

I wanna play 1.0 cuz some of them have a loud mouth I would like to shut up. Also some of my friends got fed up with some 1.1 a-holes and went back to 1.0.
I knew about the crack, just was seeing if that was the only way.

There are a few version switchers on SWfiles aren't there? I've heard Lode Vaduh's is good, but it doesn't work unless you have XP.

The problem is that he doesn't have 1.0 installed, and I don't know of a way besides what AQT said.
Anyway, I played on 1.0 until this summer (I knew about/played on 1.1 but had friends on 1.0). Most of what's left now are German servers, the majority of which are often empty. And I don't really know anyone still on 1.0 who has "a loud mouth."

Some of the version switchers include both versions of the exe file (which one really isn't supposed to do...). You can use one of those to play v1.0 of the game.
There are no reasons to use a crack with SWBF2. Some official exe versions don't have the cd/dvd checks. Discussions about using cracks will be locked.

True, I've noticed the DVD version of BF2_modtools doesn't have a CD/DVD check. Only one that works for me on vista, use it on xp too for conveniance (no cd required + uses english rather than uk_english localisations so can check both
).
Although I wouldn't want to play proper matches with it.

I though Bf2_modtools.exe didn't have multiplayer enabled? I thought that was the counterbalance for it not having a CD check?
