SWBF2 problem [Solved]

so i just got a new power supply (i don't think this is relavent) and when I start my game everything goes fne until i try to play a level the game doesn't even go to the loading dots screen it just ctds (this is with every level including modded ones). I reinstalled and reinstalled 1.1 and 1.3 and nothing has changed. Any ideas?

Just happened to me today. Waited a few hours, and it worked.

edit: just did some experimenting it is a sound problem is there any way to fix it without totally disabling the sound.

Did you restart your computer?

Sounds obvious and stupid, but its overlooked a lot and i accidentally broke my sound once, restarting my comp fixed it.

Also check and see if there are any windows updates regarding sound.

does it work if you "turn off sound?"

all fixed i went into controlpanel/ sound devices and i realized that the audio wasn't the right hardware component though sound was playing on my comp (i checked with youtube videos). now it works fine as it should. Thanks guys
